Remote Learning

At Bedfont Primary School, we use Google Classroom to support pupils’ learning when they are unable to attend school due to an exceptional closure, such as a loss of water or heating, severe weather or snow.

Children’s Google Classroom login details are recorded in their reading record books. We encourage families to keep these details accessible so that children can access learning at home when needed.

If the school has to close, families will be notified by email and provided with information about the work set and how children can access it through Google Classroom. 

We recognise that access to devices, internet connectivity and the support available at home can vary between families. Where necessary, we will consider alternative arrangements to help pupils access their learning.

Our approach follows the Department for Education’s guidance on providing remote education, with a focus on maintaining continuity of learning, supporting pupils’ individual needs and returning to face-to-face education as soon as it is safe and practicable to do so.
