A warm welcome back to you and your child. We hope you enjoyed the break over the festive period.
We have had a great start to Year 3 and all of the children have settled into Key Stage 2 well. We hope that this year continues to be a year of discovery, enjoyment, good friendships and great progress!
This term we are looking at another very exciting topic – Extreme Earth! We will be looking at different geographical features of the Earth we live in. In our English lessons we will be writing a dilemma narrative using the story ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers as our inspiration. We will then do visual literacy using the Lion King as our focus, where we will describe characters and settings, as well as doing some persuasive writing. In Maths we are focusing on Multiplication and Division, following this we will cover fractions. Please ensure your child is accessing TT rockstars as much as possible. In Science we are looking at Animals including Humans and next half term we will be learning about Plants. We will continue to send home weekly spellings to practise based on the Year 3 spelling rules.
We are looking forward to meeting with you again at Parent’s Evening.
Finally, thank you very much for your support – it makes all the difference for the children and for us! If you have any questions or concerns, please do come and speak to us at the end of the school day.
P.E. days are as follows:
Owl: Tuesday and Friday
Skylark: Monday and Tuesday
Woodpecker: Wednesday and Thursday
Please ensure children have their reading records and books in school each day.
