Black history month 2020
During the last week of this half term (19th-23rd October) we will be celebrating Black History Month. We will have discussions with children about diversity within our community and the importance of respect for all members of society. Some of the resources which we will be using in school are linked below. We will discuss this topic in a supportive way, led by the children’s questions and thoughts.
The lessons explore the impact of systemic racism and the changes the recent Black Lives Matter protests hoped to prompt. While these are serious themes, please rest assured we introduce students to them in an age-appropriate way.

The Post-box Competition
We are holding a competition for all staff and pupils. We are asking you to create your own black post-boxes in honour of some of our most inspirational Black British people. Please see the document below for more details.
